I am a British freelance journalist specialising in long-form and feature reporting. I have reported on topics ranging from shark fishing on Congo’s Atlantic coast to the closed world of an English boarding school.

My work has appeared in The Atlantic, Financial Times Magazine, Foreign Policy, The Guardian, Harper’s, Monocle, Nieman Reports, The Washington Post and others.

My first book, Clare: The Killing of a Gentle Activist, a work of narrative non-fiction, was published by Tafelberg in May 2022.

I have written, produced and directed documentaries for Al Jazeera, the BBC, Mongabay, TRAFFIC and the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime. Several of these films have been screened at international festivals.

I also work as a communications consultant for NGOs and UN agencies.
